Daryl Hall and John Oates, popularly known as Hall & Oates, are an American pop, rock, and R&B duo that originated in Philadelphia in 1970. Daryl Hall usually serves as the lead vocalist, while John Oates primarily plays electric guitar and provides backing vocals. Together, they collaborate on writing most of the songs they perform.
