Iggy Pop
James Newell Osterberg Jr., professionally known as Iggy Pop, is an iconic American figure in the realms of singing, music, songwriting, acting, and radio broadcasting. Born on April 21, 1947, Iggy Pop gained prominence as the vocalist and lyricist of the influential proto-punk band, The Stooges, formed in 1967. Renowned as the "Godfather of Punk," he earned a spot among the 50 Great Voices by NPR. In 2010, Iggy Pop was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of The Stooges. His solo work was honored with a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2020.
