OMD (Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark), formed in 1978, is an English electronic band from Wirral, Merseyside. The founding duo, Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys, along with Martin Cooper and Stuart Kershaw, are electronic music pioneers. Their experimental yet pop-infused approach made them key figures in synth-pop, influencing the MTV-driven Second British Invasion in the United States during the 1980s.
