Youssou N'Dour, born on October 1, 1959, is a Senegalese icon—a singer, songwriter, musician, composer, actor, businessman, and politician. Renowned for mbalax, he's a cultural force. Rolling Stone ranked him 69th on the 200 Greatest Singers of All Time. From 2012 to 2013, he served as Senegal's Minister of Tourism.
